Hitched and Hip : Chandra and Matt Part 2

If you read our blog post Joie de Vivre you know that Chandra Osborn and Matt Dudley got hitched at Cedarwood in a fall fusion explosion of color and beauty.  The blending of style elements – east and west coasts, fall and tropical, natural and exotic, traditional and cool -   show us what a totally hip couple they are!

Chandra and Matt’s nuptials elevated the spirits of family and guests and now it’s time to get down to an equally exciting reception. Transition from ceremony to celebration is a critical window of opportunity to build the excitement. Having both at the same venue means not losing a drop of enthusiasm!

Guests transitioned from the garden terrace to Cedarwood’s  front lawn for a cocktail reception with live string quartet music and fall fusion flavors like Pumpkin Martinis and Sushi! Totally hip.

Phindy Studios captured some wonderful shots of the reception floral and decor (all done on site by the Cedarwood design team!) so we can show you Chandra and Matt’s stunning reception set up in the Cedarwood Pavilion. Centerpieces were a dramatic bounty of tropical and fall flowers (including copper beech, artichokes and lotus pods!) adorning tables, and similar floral styles were repeated throughout the house and property.

Chandra and Matt made sure each guest got their personal share of  eye candy.  Plum Chrysanthemum flowers, menu cards, Matt and Chandra “fact sheets” and Hatch Show Print “Got Hitched” favor cards at each place setting involved guests in the reception celebration. Custom photo cards naming reception tables for destinations Matt and Chandra have traveled together added conservation fodder for table mates.

Down South Delights worked with Chandra and Matt to design a delectable menu including roasted apple salad, a soup station with roasted red pepper, french onion and butternut squash bisque, beef tenderloin and pecan encrusted tilapia with delectable sides like pumpkin risotto and fig and caramelized onion compote. Yum!

Marzipan apples, plums, acorns and leaves with plum dahlias, green orchids and berries adorn Chandra and Matt’s Patty Cakes wedding cake. This wedding cake is a true work of art!

It was a true pleasure to meet Phil and Mindy Thornton, the couple behind the beauty at Phindy Studios! We love your work and hope you’ll be back at Cedarwood soon! Thanks for the Cedarwood compliments professing this “one of the most beautiful weddings of the year!”
