We understand why Cedarwood’s outdoor cathedral generates so much buzz. It is a one-of-a-kind, eye-popping, mouth-dropping gorgeous setting for a country chic wedding.
It helps that country music artist Holly Williams, of the Hank Williams family tradition, chose the setting for her September 27 nuptials to Chris Coleman. And that People Magazine covered their star-studded wedding with amazing photos by their official photographer Tec Petaja.
Our friends at Ace Photography also stopped in to take a few detail shots for us and Cedarwood staffer Ellen Manson also captured a few fantastic photos. We are happy to share their images with you in this follow-up post on Holly and Chris’s September 27 Cedarwood wedding.
Not unlike a major music production, Cedarwood’s outdoor cathedral is not something that just happens. The first requirement is an epic environment. The wide open rolling green meadow and old growth Cedar trees lining our historic farm offer a noble and serene setting for Love’s holiest communion.
These stately ten feet tall Gothic windows were salvaged from the Douglas Street Church, designed by Nashvillian Hugh Thompson, architect of the Ryman Auditorium, otherwise known as the Mother Church of Country Music. We knew the minute we saw them at Restoration Station, they were destined for continuing sacred service at Cedarwood weddings! After an extensive search, we acquired thirty two antique solid Oak carved church pews to fulfill the vision of our open air countryside cathedral in the Cedarwood meadow.
Set up requires teams of construction crews and movers working in tandem with Cedarwood wedding designers to build the backdrop, set up pew seating and then to disassemble and move it all back after the wedding. No easy task! The uniquely stunning results are well worth the effort, don’t you think?
And now are some delicious details of the day, the reception and the celebration!
