A Gray Photography Wedding by Jessica Rai : Jeff & Lisa are Hitched!

Photos by Jessica Rai, Gray Wedding Photography

Lisa Park and Jeff Agase had a fantastic and fun destination wedding at Cedarwood on May 8. They are lawyers living in Chicago (Jeff a grad from UCLA and Lisa from Vanderbilt) so Music City USA was an ideal locale for their wedding celebration.  We loved how Lisa and Jeff embraced a southern vibe for their wedding style, including Hatch Show Print invitations, Sweet Tea, Mason Jars and a little “Y’ALL” southern speak!

Fun details like Lisa and Jeff’s Wedding Mad Lib program fans, paper flower garlands, vintage quilt photo booth, “official beer passport” (encouraging guests to try the five speciality beers from their five cities of residence) and an amazing “sweets and treats” buffet kept guests engaged all night long.  Their band “Loose Chain” did their part to keep the energy level up!  Loved this wedding….. Jeff and Lisa’s wedding photographer Jessica Rai captured some wonderful images, and we are going to share them as they appeared on the Gray Photography Blog.  Enjoy!

Re-post from Gray Photography Blog feature on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 23, 2010

Fantastic Fall Fete : Heather and Tommy, Part 3

Photos by Ace Photography

Heather Payne and Tommy Smith are a Halloween bride and groom.  Their October 31 Cedarwood wedding was an enchanting blend of seasonal beauty and a trove of treats for guests.  After their amazingly warm, sunny garden ceremony on the last day of October, the team at Ace Photography captured a few more fun and romantic photos of Heather and Tommy on the grounds as guests were ushered to a fantastic fall fete.

When Heather and Tommy got to their table, two surprises awaited.  A custom Cedarwood-carved monogram pumpkin lantern and an autographed, framed copy of their special ceremony song, “Johnny and June” by Heidi Newfield, with a personal wish just for them.   When sheet music for this song was unavailable to wedding guitarist, Rob Higginbothom, Heather’s mom Nancy Payne used her friendship to score an original version from the publisher!  We must say that this song was totally perfect for Heather and Tommy’s wedding, and a highlight of the ceremony.

Decor for the reception was tasteful and elegant with a little bling and a nod to Halloween holiday traditions.  Stick Masks, candy for the kids, and of course, pumpkins and lots of candles illuminated the evening.

Our favorite photos of the wedding are the next two of Heather and her father Joe during the father-daughter dance. Heather is blessed with two amazing parents.  Their love and devotion to her was touching throughout the planning process, as Nancy and Joe Payne made sure nothing was overlooked that would make Heather’s day more special.

From Portland, Tennessee, Joe and Nancy are part of the bedrock of Sumner County and the community respect for this family was obvious at Heather and Tommy’s celebration.    We think it is especially appropriate that these photos appear on our blog on Father’s Day. Joe, you are an inspirational father and Heather, you are one lucky daughter!

Sweets of the night included Patty Cakes gorgeous wedding cake and Tommy’s Wrigley Field groom’s cake.  Just look at the detailing on this cake!  Patty can create amazing 3-D groom’s cakes – your imagination is her inspiration.

The reception dinner menu for this wedding was another highlight. How’s this for seasonal flair and good southern cuisine by A Dream Come True Catering: Fresh garden salad, roasted chicken with cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce and gravy, rosemary garlic carved roast beef, sweet potato casserole, fresh vegetable medley, parsley buttered new potatoes, corn pudding, yeast rolls and butter. De-lish!

If you haven’t checked out the rest of this wedding, be sure to look at our “part 2 post” and amazing ceremony photos by Ace Photography and the preview video clip by Andy Cam Productions.

Heather and Tommy, we hope your marriage is as fun and lively as your fantastic fall Halloween wedding.  Stay in touch!

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads who make the world a special place! Our Dad included!

Octoberfest : Heather and Tommy, Part 2

Photos by Ace Photography

Because we have a beautiful album of Heather Payne and Tommy Smith‘s October 31 wedding in our consultation room, we get to enjoy the beauty of this wedding over and over again.  If you’ve visited Cedarwood recently, you may have enjoyed seeing their amazing Ace Photography storybook album or one of their cool gallery wraps hanging on our office wall.  You also may remember the Cedarwood blog video post of this fantastic fall wedding by Andy Cam Productions.   We just remembered that we hadn’t yet shared Ace Photography photos from Heather and Tommy’s wedding on our blog!  What a treat!

Fortunately the timing is a cool break from the June heat wave to remind us of crisp October landscapes and fall weather. (Soon to return!) Enjoy!

Up next: more about Heather and Tommy and details from their  festive fall wedding and reception.  Join the fun!

High Style Country Wedding : Jennifer & Drew

June 18, 2010  |  Weddings  |  1 Comment  |  Share

Photos by Souder Photography

Weddings are events of beauty, warmth and wonder, always inspiring us with hope and new beginnings. When a couple infuses their style into the day, they connect with guests in a uniquely personal way.  Jennifer Norsworthy and Drew Hale did this as well as any couple we’ve worked with.  They are Southern born and raised, always up for adventure, love to have fun, love country music and are known to sing a tune or two.  They love fresh green spaces and their May 15 wedding at Cedarwood was full of relaxed beauty, playful details, romantic southern charm, vintage chic and high style. How’s that for a recipe for country wedding perfection?

After Jennifer and Drew spoke their vows to each other in a touching garden ceremony adorned with spring Peonies, southern Hydrangea, English garden roses and wildflowers, they invited guests to the Cedarwood barn for the first phase of their celebration. The barn is a great space for cocktails and an opportunity to mix in a bit of rustic charm before dinner and dancing in the Cedarwood Pavilion. Love these detail shots in the barn!

Now to the ‘main’ reception via the front lawn and more photo ops.  Love Jennifer on the rope swing!

Burlap runners, lanterns and a blend of mason jars and romantic flowers on reception tables are a favorite combination of ours for a high style country mood. That and a Tennessee smokehouse menu!

Patty Cakes wedding cupcakes were a perfect choice, and Jen and Drew got to have their ‘wedding anniversary’ cake too!  Different designs designated the various cupcake flavors. We were even able to sneak some ’Power Ts’ on a few for Drew.

A little boot scootin’ to some great live music and a special song by Jennifer!

Josh and Meg of Souder Photography hit big time with so many stunning photos of Jennifer and Drew’s chic country celebration (be sure to check out the first three posts!!!) Can’t wait to have Josh and Meg back again! They’re a hoot (southern expression for fun!)

Loved this day!
