We’re starting today’s blog post with a cool break (visual break at least) from the summer heat wave stretching from South Dakota to Texas and eastward to the Ohio Valley and South. We’re sure feeling it in Tennessee! Seeing snow fall in these delightful engagement shots of Tara Gentile and Jon Foder by Rachel Williamson Photography is so refreshing!
Tara and John have been great about sharing their ideas, inspirations and DYI projects for their upcoming Cedarwood wedding on September 11. We love, love, love their wedding favors because they are so personal, such a part of their relationship and something they have crafted together. We are inspired by their labor of love, and wanted to share this project with our Cedarwood blog readers.

Tara says, “Jon and I decided we wanted to have some kind of homemade favor. We threw around some ideas and came up with our canned peppers that all of our friends and family love. We grow Hungarian wax peppers (hot) in our garden and a kind of a ridiculous amount. So, we decided to put together half pint jars for our favors. The two day process of canning took many more hours than usual. I don’t think we ever canned that many peppers in one batch. Jon and I sat last night for a few hours and pieced the fabric and tags on. Besides tasting delicious, they turned out pretty cute.”
We agree! YUM. I can think of several ways to use these spicy treasures! Thanks for sharing Tara and Jon. We’ll see you in a few weeks. We also look forward to having Rachel Williamson shoot here again!
We hope the only heat on your wedding day will be in these delightful little jars!
