More wedding pros are buzzing about non-traditional and mid-week weddings. We are buzzing too. Planning your nuptials on alternative days is catching on at Cedarwood and we can see why! Since there is such a demand for time on the weekends and venues book out so far in advance, some couples are hosting their weddings during the week instead.  Just as beautiful and festive, a weekday wedding can be the ticket for couples without long lead time, and for those who want to save money.  It’s also a way to get the location and vendors you’ve always dreamed of for your wedding.  After all, it is your day and you can only experience it once!

And what about our guests you ask? In reality, most people flying from out of state for a wedding take a day or two off anyway – who doesn’t want a mini-vacation?  And local guests will love you for providing some excitement in the work week!

Recycled Bride founder Tracy DiNunzio of Santa Monica, CA says: “Mid-Week weddings are among the top 10 sustainable wedding trends for 2010. She says, “The Times Are A-Changing.  Saturday night weddings aren’t the only game in town. Brides and grooms are scheduling their nuptials on weeknights, Sundays, and even early mornings in 2010. It’s less expensive to book  a venue or caterer on “off days”, and as telecommuting becomes more popular, guests are gaining flexibility in their schedules. Weddings we’ll see this year will include sunrise affairs followed by romantic brunches, and chic mid-week dinner parties.”

Cedarwood thinks this is a worthy option!  In addition to our Morning Glory and Elegant Elopement packages, we’ve hosted several mid-week evening weddings this year. Check out Cedarwood’s Perfect Wedding Package mid-week discounts!  And for more budget friendly tips and trends, visit  Recycled Bride, the world’s first eco-chic wedding resale website.

Next trendsetters:  Claire Miller andMichael Aucoin, getting married at Cedarwood on Thursday night, August 19. We can’t wait!
