Sensational Summer Style : Sarah+Jake

I must admit that we are totally smitten by this dreamy modern pastel wedding and the killer photography by Amy Callahan.  There’s a special connection to our July 17 bride and groom, Sarah Story and Jake Hafner. Sarah’s mother Cindy Web Story and I cheered in high school together, and although we are not related, our family connection with Sarah’s father Pete Story dates back to our grandparents.  And then there’s Amy Callahan, photographer extraordinare, who gave my husband David and I one of the greatest gifts, a photographic tribute to the late USN Commander Ben Wooten. Amy is one of the most talented photographers in the state, and if you are not familiar with her work, check it out!

Sarah has impecable taste, and she is also drop dead gorgeous, which is a great formula for a beautiful day!  Her wedding style was relaxed, yet refined; elegant, yet not stuffy;  and full of sensational summer style.  We love the wedding color palette of Dusty Shale (our favorite J.Crew color!) with floral accents in pale shades of ivory, blush, peach, green and gray!

Sarah and Jake used the architecture of the Pavilion entrance for their altar, and this unique orientation for the ceremony is truly stunning.  Sarah’s parents own a printing company so they had tons of really cute printed details, including wedding fans featuring their engagement photos, personal labels for take away favors (home made apple butter-yum!) and custom signs.

Amy did an outstanding job of making Cedarwood look great.  We were touched by her blog comments about our venue. She said, “This venue is by far my top pick for a wedding. I have not had an event here in quite a while, so it was great to get back. If you are planning your big day for next year, you should most definitely check into this location! The owners are fabulous to work with! As you check out the photos of the food, flowers and decor, keep in mind that Cedarwood provides it all!”
