This is one fantastic wedding, and we are honored that it was featured in the Weddings Unveiled Magazine blog, Completely Unveiled. If there was ever a case of “meant to be” this is it! Alabama residents Emily Gordon and Jordan Frazer planned their summer wedding on the beach. Every detail was in place, invitations send and then disaster struck: the Gulf oil spill. Shocked at first, Emily’s mom, Kerri Gordon, said she and Emily chose not to focus too much on the crude oil spilling into Gulf waters, thinking they were too committed to change plans. As time went on and the situation only got worse, Kerri said they became depressed at the prospect of changing everything but decided it was the only option to give Emily’ ‘her dream day.’ Emily and Kerri came to Cedarwood 60 days before their scheduled wedding to see if we could help them change course for a green landlocked wedding. A few stress-induced tears were shed during that first meeting, but as we talked through possibilities for Emily’s Cedarwood wedding, excitement began building. We ordered (and delivered) new invitations from Designs in Paper within a week, booked our vendor-partners and even helped Emily and Jordan secure a rare open slot on Ace Photography’s calendar. Everything and everyone literally fell into place for Emily and Jordan’s August 13 wedding.
The event was a serenade to summer, and the shift from beach to country chic styling worked well with the bridemaids’ short Kelly green dresses and Emily’s destination gown. The guys planned to stay cool in casual shirts from Ralph Lauren and khaki pant. While Emily chose a classic ivory and white fresh flower bouquet, bridesmaids carried a garden mix of vibrant colored summer flowers tied with burlap and twine. Perfect for a farm wedding! Fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers were used with rustic elements such as burlap, jute, calico fabric and vintage crates to create our farmers market-inspired styling. Ace Photography took advantage of Cedarwood’s summer farm grandeur to create a photographic feast of the day. There are so many fantastic photos, look for multiple posts for this casually elegant country Cedarwood wedding.
