Sarah Middleton and Jonathan Benson wanted a simple, very laid back, no-fuss wedding that was big on natural beauty. Their medical careers (Jon a physician and Sarah a nurse practitioner) brought them to Nashville a year ago, drawn to Tennessee’s beauty, culture and warmer winters. Since Nashville was their new home, they decided to host their wedding here. Their venue criteria: a beautiful outdoors spot in the country, but close to the city. We’re so glad Sarah and Jon found Cedarwood! Sarah says, “As soon as we saw Cedarwood we fell in love with it! It is elegant yet simple and I loved the fact you did so much of the planning for me. I can’t say enough about how easy everyone at Cedarwood was to work with.”
Sarah and Jon’s beloved Golden Doodle, “Miller” played supporting role in the wedding – at their side from ceremony to dance floor. What a ham in his black tie collar! Jeter Photography got some fantastic photos of Sarah and Jon with Miller – bet they make you smile. Sarah was beautiful in her Paloma Blanca gown from Arzelle’s, and Sarah’s bridesmaids wore my personal favorite color, “Dusty Shale” silk chiffon from J Crew. Using a simple color scheme of green and white, Sarah wanted to infuse a little vintage flair into their wedding design by incorporating some of Cedarwood’s flea market finds and treasures for a country-chic look. Teal bottles from the 1800’s and blue mason jars were a perfect blend, and we love the vintage pearl brooch attached to Sarah’s bouquet, her vintage styled rings and “something blue” custom designed rustic lace and pearl garter.
Special moments for Sarah and Jon included spending private time together directly after the ceremony while guests enjoyed cocktails in the Cedarwood Barn. Being introduced into the barn during the cocktail reception as Mr. and Mrs. for the first time, was a magic memory. With the lights and candle lanterns aglow, Sarah said, “It looked straight out of a movie! Guests told us it was the coolest wedding they have been to. You guys nailed our dream wedding and I think the pictures (by Jeter Photography) do a good job demonstrating how beautiful everything was and how much fun everyone had.”
Sarah and Jon, you are precious as Mr. and Mrs. Benson! Thank you so very much for allowing us to serve you. Your wedding was pure love, sweet and simple. Thanks John and Peggy Jeter for sharing these lovely images with us.
We just learned that John and Peggy Jeter are retiring from wedding photography, and although we will miss working with them in the future, we’re happy they can now achieve their goal of being full time grandparents. They are one of the most gracious professional photography couples we’ve known, always smiling and sharing a funny comment or encouraging line. John and Peggy: We salute you and thank you for your talent and sharing your time and work with us whenever we called.
