For the annual Cedarwood Style Show, our design team enlisted a few of our vendor-partners to help create a bit of Royal Vintage wedding inspiration. Just as the dark background of a Rembrandt still life opposes the splendor of its subjects, we embraced winter landscapes to showcase details of this rich yet approachable vintage style. Photographer Krystal Mann took cues from the dramatic contrasts to create modern wedding images with an old world feel.
A bejeweled bride in a Vera Wang gown from b. Hughes Bridal epitomizes modern wedding couture, but most of the pieces used to style this rustic luxury Baroque inspired winter shoot are vintage:: the bride’s heirloom china and clock, old books, gilded mirrors and frames from both family and flea markets, vanity accessories, and object’s d’ art arranged in an eclectic mix of well worn finery. A vintage gold Tussy-Mussy holds a dramatic bouquet of Schwarzwalder Callas, Vitality Garden Roses, Beauty Berries and Berzelia Baubles.
Guests sign an antique mirror “guest book” and pull hand made altered art love sentiments fom a “Golden Reminders” favor garland hanging between trees. Opulent invitations and wedding cake are rich contrasts to rustic, winter landscapes where guests enjoy Godiva chocolates and liqueurs, assorted sweets, fine wine and exotic fruits plucked from Dutch Masters-inspired floral arrangements. Iron, gold and crystal candle chandeliers brighten up barren branches and gilded mirrors reflect old world grandeur reminiscent of royal vintage style.
