Our 2011 wedding season kicked off early this year on the first Saturday in March. It rained. A lot. The beautiful ceremony didn’t care, because the bride and groom had selected the Cedarwood barn as their site months ago – come rain or shine. And it was lovely. We’ll feature this wedding on the blog when we get images from Jessica Rai.
Our first 2011 wedding brought back memories of our FIRST ever barn wedding of Amy and Bryan Mels of Chicago. It wasn’t susposed to rain on the October day of their Cedarwood destination wedding, but it did. When Amy and the wedding party arrived, we offered the barn as a ceremony option. Amy and Bryan took a quick stroll to the barn and were sold. The raindrops falling on the tin roof and soft romantic lighting created a magical retreat. Amy and Bryan, their wedding party and guests were in an amazing mood, excited about the barn and excited to be in Tennessee celebrating with their loved ones.
We loved the contrast of Amy in her couture wedding gown in the rustic barn, but what we loved even more was the relaxed and composed way Amy and Bryan embraced the day. A little wet grass didn’t stop them from exploring the grounds and getting amazing photos by Krystal Mann and her associate Shannon Brasel. These images show just how special this day was, and how lovely a Cedarwood barn ceremony can be.
We always love feedback from our newlyweds, and we especially loved this note from Amy. “Bryan and I wanted to thank you for making our wedding day so special and memorable. We have to admit that the weather was not what we expected for our day, but amazingly the rain turned out to be a blessing in disguise! We couldn’t have asked for a more romantic or intimate spot to get married than under the barn with the sound of the rain on the tin roof. I think from now on, I will always have a special spot in my heart for rainy days. We truly appreciate all your efforts in transforming the barn from its “cocktail hour” state to a magical place for our ceremony. Looking back, I couldn’t imagine exchanging our vows in front of all our family and friends anywhere else!
“We received so many compliments on Cedarwood during and after our wedding. Our guests couldn’t believe how beautiful the house was, the amazing flowers that were EVERYWHERE, and all the special details that made our wedding unique. Thank you again for helping us to have the wedding of our dreams and one of the most amazing days of our lives!”
We understand Amy and Bryan have started a family, and we are thrilled for them. Our best to you always. Thanks for making history at Cedarwood!
And for all of our Cedarwood brides looking forward to their wedding this year, we hope that you will embrace your day with all it’s possibilities. After all, everything grows with a little rain, especially love! A great photography team can produce photos you will be proud to show regardless of the weather! Thanks Krystal and Shannon for proving this point!
