Horses & Butterflies :: Marya+Aaron Part 2

Photos by Krystal Mann

Marya and Aaron had different aesthetics in styling their wedding – she’s an eclectic, vintage-rustic loving Tennessee girl and he’s a northern traditionalist from Pittsburgh. Just as in their relationship, they found middle ground in planning their  wedding: the stateliness of an antebellum estate and the rustic charm of a historic farm and red barn!   Marya told us that ever since childhood she’s been obsessed with horses. Her great grandfather raised Tennessee Walking Horses, and some of Marya’s favorite memories involve spending time on her grandparents’ farm with their horses. As a girl, Marya told us she was also intrigued by a childhood photo of her mother (as Little Miss Sunbeam) used in 1950s horse show advertisements promoting her grandfather’s store, “Sue’s Howdy Doody.”  Marya says, “Even today, I treasure that advertisement because it represents the joys and influences of my youth: beautiful farmland, horses, romance and a loving family.” So of course, it had to be included in the joy of her wedding day!  We arranged for real horses to be on hand for the wedding, with much gratitude to Cedarwood’s amazing Jason Fletcher.

These beautiful photos show the tapestry of Marya and Aaron’s wedding design, including the bride’s personal collection of horse art and memorabilia.  Kudos to Krystal Mann, who captured the details of the wedding so exquisitely that it was featured on Style Me Pretty. Be sure to click on over to part 1 of our blog post and the Style Me Pretty feature for the rest of the wedding story!  Enjoy the beauty in part 2 of this delightfully delicious wedding, and check out the fabulous vendors listed at the end of this post.

Huge hugs to Marya and Aaron, and a big shout out to Marya’s fantastic mom, Monty Wilkerson, who put her heart into the wedding.  And to Krystal Mann for the photo magic. Great job! xoxo
