Rachel and Gus are scientists.  Specifically, micro-biologists with Rachel in grad school at Vanderbilt University and Gus completing his post doctoral research at Vanderbilt in bacteria.  This couple found a way to turn their college and career choices (which led to their love of each other) into a fun theme to personalize their October 21 wedding.  And if you think scientists are serious, Rachel and Gus will totally change your mind. This is one fun-loving couple who made  FUN  a major feature at their wedding.  We love Rachel’s 50′s inspired tea-length dress by Sottero and Midgley, which let her playful personality shine through.  We can’t think of a better conversation starter than tables named after bacteria….but presented in the cutest way with stuffed versions incorporated into tablescapes and matching seating card images.  Then there’s the yard games, a fun barn cocktail reception with live bluegrass, a great dance band with Jace Aaron Entertainment, and a wedding piñata to end the evening filled with sweets and treats for guests to take home.

Dove Wedding Photography took some fantastic photos of the day and we especially love the first look of Rachel and Gus on the hillside, and their romantic interlude in our vintage rowboat on Mooncake Lake.  Stunning!
